Roopy said hed continue later, unfortunately later has come and gone, weve now entered that pit of procrastination which is so so difficult to clamber out of. Luckily im here to save the day, HORRAY!!!
So weve finished enduring George Clooney fishing and the like, you would think that would have been the lowest part of the journey, unfortunately you would be wrong. The steward who we had chatted to in the morning now obviously felt we had become friends because as he passed out the Ramitas (remember: "the horror the horror")he slipped us an extra pack. He must have walked away feeling happily thinking he had just done us a favour and we would be thinking "oh what a cool guy! Thanks!", if only he had known that he had just insulted us beyond the normal confines of insults. The only thing worse than a pack of Ramitas is two packs! Trust me on this.
Next Pullman impressed us by putting on a film which seemed pretty damn good unfortunately they switched it off after just enough time for us to really get into it! To make things worse what they replaced it with (for no reason) was a woman in a jeep with getting blown up by a landmine! hmmmmm, crappy old war film. Sleep was our only escape, so we escaped.
Its horrible wasting a days worth of day light by sitting on a bus, returning to Santiago we were starving so full of excitement for a beautiful portion of chips managed to miss a bus and choose possibly the most disgusting chip shop in the known universe, and in most of the unknown. Not only were the chips enough to turn even the most ravernous of stomachs (ie mine) but the ketchup was disgusting and watered down, and theres only so much mustard one can take! To make matters even better we waited for so long for a bus. Chile has a completely opposite system to england, they dont even try and keep to a timetable so theres no timetables anywhere and instead of waiting for 2 hours and not seeing any busses you wait two hours and see about 5 or 6 every minute, none of which seem to be the one you want. Frustating to say the least, we eventually found one and started the journey to puente alto. Deciding that we were tired and didnt want to drink much so only bought two bottles of pisco, and for some strange reason we managed to convince ourselves that buying only 2 litres of coke would stop us drinking heavily! it didnt, we ended up staggering around puente alto looking for someone to sell us coke and more pisco!! i love being able to do that! The pisco always wins, whethe ryour hungover, tired, dont want to drink, youll always find yourself having a great time with people you love slowly punishing your liver and enjoying every minute of it!!! YAY!
Its always nice to be back in Puente Alto, the only problem is time moves so god damn fast there!...
(M)
Whatever you do! dont look directly at them!!!
THE HORROR THE HORROR!!!!
